Bookcase is compatible with iPhone 12 or newer and utilizes Apple’s MagSafe technology to attach magnetically to the phone.

Every product also includes a MagSafe conversion kit for Android phones and older-model iPhones.

FAQ:

• Can I use Bookcase with my current phone case? Generally, yes. Bookcase adheres magnetically to your phone via its MagSafe ring and can do so with your existing case attached. When you're ready to read, simply place your phone (and attached case) into Bookcase.
• What are the dimensions of Bookcase? Height: 6.5 in. / 16.5 cm. Width: 5 in. / 12.7 cm. Depth: 0.5 in / 1.3 cm. We designed Bookcase to mimic the dimensions of a standard paperback book. When a smartphone is attached, the weight is roughly the same, too!
• Will Bookcase protect my phone from drops? Bookcase is designed as an e-reader, not a phone case. While Bookcase might provide some protection if the phone were dropped while in the cradle, it’s not intended to do so. Dropping Bookcase — with or without a phone attached — can damage its functionality and performance.

MagSafe Kit

• My phone doesn’t have MagSafe. Can I still use Bookcase? Yep. Every Bookcase comes with a MagSafe Compatibility Kit, which includes a magnetic ring that you can attach to your phone or phone case so that it can connect to Bookcase.
• How does the MagSafe Compatibility Kit work? Bookcase relies on the MagSafe ring available in later-generation Apple iPhones to hold the device in place. For Android phones and older iPhones without a pre-installed ring, the MagSafe Compatibility Kit provides a magnetic ring that can be added to the back of many common phone cases and bare phones.
• What materials does the MagSafe ring stick to? The MagSafe ring will adhere to hard plastic, aluminum, and polished glass. Note that the MagSafe ring won’t work with cases made of silicone, leather, wood, frosted glass, or with uneven or waterproof surfaces.
• Can I remove the MagSafe ring from my case later? The MagSafe Ring from our Compatibility Kit is attached via a strong-bonding adhesive. Removal may damage your phone case, so be sure which case you want to use when you attach the adapter.
  

Companion App

• Is the Bookcase companion app free? Yes! The app will be available from Apple’s App Store and Google Play for free. To use: Download the app from your app store, attach your phone to Bookcase, and launch the app.
• Do I have to use the companion app? No. The Bookcase companion app is meant to improve your reading experience with shortcuts and automation tools, but it’s not required to use and enjoy Bookcase.

• Does the Bookcase companion app collect any data? Nope. The app allows you to program the NFC chip in Bookcase so that your reading experience is smoother. We don’t collect any data in this process. Everything happens locally on your device.
